England Beat Denmark To Maintain 100 Start At Womens World Cup

England beat Denmark to maintain 100% start at Women's World Cup

Keira Walsh suffers knee injury in crucial Group D clash

England maintained their perfect start to the Women's World Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Denmark in Frankfurt on Wednesday night.

Keira Walsh gave England the lead in the 34th minute with a deflected strike from the edge of the area, but the Lionesses were made to work hard for the three points by a determined Danish side.

Walsh was forced off with a knee injury in the second half, but England held on to secure their second win of the tournament and move to the top of Group D.

The result means that England are now in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages, with a game against Slovenia to come on Sunday.
